The Helen L. Hardy Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the enduring legacy of Helen L. Hardy — a woman of quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering determination.

 

In her memory, this scholarship seeks to recognize and support students who have demonstrated remarkable leadership and resilience in the face of life’s challenges while pursuing academic excellence.

Award Amount: $500

​

Eligibility:

This scholarship is open to high school seniors or current college students who have:

​

• Shown perseverance through significant personal, familial, or societal adversity

• Maintained a commitment to academic success

• A desire to continue their education at an accredited college, university, or vocational school

​

Application Requirements:

​

• A personal essay (250–500 words) describing the challenges you’ve faced, how you’ve overcome them, and how those experiences have shaped your goals

• A current transcript

• One or two letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to your character, resilience, or academic journey

​

The ideal applicant will not only have endured hardship but will also have emerged with a sense of purpose, compassion, and determination to create a brighter future for themselves and others.
